Outsource machining

Outsource machining without the quote runaround

Outsourcing machining normally means emailing an RFQ and waiting days for a quote. 1TurnAhead flips that — upload your drawing or CAD and see instantly what your parts cost and when they ship.

    Why outsource via 1TurnAhead

Instant price, even from a 2D drawing — our intake recognises material, tolerances and roughness automatically. Single point of contact with European quality; we handle the machining partner, QC and documentation. Scales from prototype to repeat series with tiered pricing.

    What we machine

Turning is our specialty: shafts, bushings, pins, manifolds, fittings and fine-mechanical precision parts. Small milling features on turned parts are included; purely milled parts are requested the same way (see outsource CNC milling). Materials from stainless and titanium to aluminium, steel, brass and engineering plastics.

    Outsourcing turned parts: what matters

Outsourcing turning goes smoothest with a complete drawing: material, general tolerance (for example ISO 2768-mK), surface roughness and the tight dimensions called out separately. From that drawing and a STEP file we work out bar stock, setups and machining time, and place the part with a partner that has the right machine: a sliding-head lathe for small, slender parts, a CNC lathe with live tooling for turned parts with milled features.

    How it works

Upload your drawing (PDF) or CAD file (STEP, IGES, STL, SolidWorks, Parasolid). Configure material, tolerance, finish, thread and lead time. Price and lead time appear instantly. Order online and track production.

    Quality and certification

ISO 9001, TÜV-certified, EU PED-compliant for pressurised components. Material certificates 2.1/2.2/3.1 and additional QC documentation on request — important for aerospace, medical, pharma and energy.

    Frequently asked questions

What does it cost to outsource machining?
It depends on material, size, operations, tolerances and quantity. Upload your drawing and you see a price indication within seconds; the final quote follows after an engineer has reviewed it.
Do I need to provide a 3D model?
No. A 2D drawing or PDF is enough — we extract specs automatically.
Do I get tiered pricing for series?
Yes, the price scales with quantity; series production is part of the configurator.
    How is confidentiality handled?
All files are encrypted and treated confidentially.
